What is your name and what do you do?

Diane Peters, and I'm a native Daytonian who loves her city! I am a Coding & Auditing Consultant in Health Information Management.

If you were to splurge on a gift, experience, or event downtown, what would it be?

Splurge for me would be dinner at Corner Kitchen, followed by a performing arts show at the Schuster, Victoria, Loft Theater or the Dayton Theater Guild .

What does your downtown routine or nightlife look like?

Every Saturday I do my weekly grocery shopping at 2nd street market. Every Sunday I attend worship service at St John's UCC on E 3rd street. We are a welcoming and inclusive congregation of all people, and I want to help support that message. St John's was awarded "Local Historic Landmark" by the City of Dayton in 2018. Something we are very proud of. I like Yellow Cab for Showcase Thursday, or a movie with friends at the Neon.

Where is your favorite place to go for dinner and drinks?

I love Franco's "World Famosa Spaghetti" or Thai 9 Pineapple Fried Rice, yum! But I'm just as satisfied with the OE Pizza or the Trolley Stop Creamy Dill Potato Soup. No shortage of great places to eat in the Oregon District.

What's your favorite downtown event or place to celebrate special occasions?

Summertime by far offers the most. With the Hot Summer Music Series at Riverscape MetroPark, to the Cool Film Series at the Victoria Theater, and now the Levitt Pavilion! I can say there are more things to do in this city then there is time to do them all...and I love saying that!

What are your favorite downtown retail shops?

By far my favorite is BRIM. Not only do they have great hats, I've been known to buy a bracelet or two as well as some great socks and amazing scarves....plus they are some of my favorite people!
